Gareth Johnson

Gareth Johnson | Head of Signature and Investment Management Compliance

Gareth has 25 years' experience in Board, Chief Operating Officer, Head of Operational Risk, and Compliance roles. He was Global Head of Investment Platform, Head of MiFID II, and a board member at Rothschild Co Wealth Management, creating the modern discretionary investment platform and helping grow the business organically from £3.5bn to £10bn in four years. Gareth was also Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley Global Investment Solutions, the discretionary investment management arm of Morgan Stanley’s global wealth management businesses working across the UK, Switzerland, Europe and the USA. Gareth worked with CIOs, heads of business and investment managers to make businesses safe, scalable, and operationally efficient removing the impediments to managing money effectively and assisting teams to become significantly more productive.

Gareth is an avid technologist and has both designed and implemented portfolio management, dealing, risk and performance systems in multiple businesses over the last 20 years. He has extensive experience of creating new products including creating and overseeing OEIC, NURS, SICAV, SICAF, and fund of hedge funds in the UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, and Cayman. He has also sat on and advised the Investment and Risk Committees at Morgan Stanley, Rothschild, and a number of Signature clients.

Isaac Hipshon

Isaac Hipshon | Head of Signature Technical Compliance

Isaac is Head of Signature Technical Compliance and deals with more complex firms and queries. He is one of the team experts in FCA compliance, GDPR, FATCA, Consumer Credit Act, JMLSG and regularly disseminates ESMA regulation. He has excellent working knowledge of more complex rule books such as COLL, CONC, CASS, BIPRU, Genpru etc. Previous roles include Policy and Standards Manager for a national IFA, Complaints Compliance Consultant for a large IFA network, tied adviser for a high street bank and a pension technical analyst for a firm of Actuaries these have all given him extensive industry experience in a broad range of disciplines.

Alexander McGregor
Senior Compliance Policy Manager

Alexander McGregor | Senior Compliance Policy Manager

Alexander is part of the Policy Team at SimplyBiz and has 10 years’ experience in financial service compliance roles working both in industry and as a compliance consultant. Since joining SimplyBiz in 2015, his role has progressed from dealing with day to day queries on the Compliance Helpdesk to a new role within the Policy Team as a Senior Compliance Policy Manager. Alexander holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and has attained the Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management. His responsibilities include horizon scanning, delivery of policy developments and direction, designing internal and external messages around regulatory change and working on responses to regulatory consultations in the interests of the membership.
