Suitability under scrutiny – how do your processes measure up?

22 October 2020

When the FCA issued its 'Dear CEO' letter in January, it was clear that suitability of advice, particularly within the retirement sector, was number one on its agenda, and has firmly remained in its spotlight.

With this in mind, Signature is pleased to partner with Fidelity International to host a unique event, addressing:

  • The regulator’s requirements for suitable retirement advice;
  • Key challenges facing dividend investors; and,
  • Designing CIPs to help run a robust and compliant operating model.

At this event, Matthew Jennings, Investment Director at Fidelity International, tackled the key challenges facing dividend investors zooming in on the importance of sustainability in selecting stocks for income. In particular, he provided practical tips to navigate an environment where corporate fundamentals point to a mixed outlook for dividends at home and abroad.

In addition, using the FCA’s guidance as the foundation, Karl Dines, Head of Business Consultancy at The SimplyBiz Group, provided insight into the importance of CIPs and decumulation strategies and outlined how best to design them in order to run a robust and compliant operating model.
